This week’s #MusicMonday song is GORN (กร) – Someone Someday. The song is performed by GORN (กร), one of the six members of the Thai pop band PROXIE (พรอกซี). PROXIE (พรอกซี) debuted on April 29th, 2022, under Dreamers Society Management with their debut single Crazy Love (รักบ้าบอ).

Gorn Wannapairote (กร วรรณไพโรจน์), better known by his stage name, GORN (กร) was born on July 25th, 2003.
PROXIE includes six members: Gun, Kim, Chokun, Gorn, Onglee, and Victor.

On April 23rd, 2024, GORN (กร) released a solo called Someone Someday, a song about his yearning for a girl who is a few years older than him and hoping that she will wait for him to get older. The song features a lovely, groovy bass, synth, and a beautiful electric guitar solo.

GORN (กร) addresses the current state with his crush as just friends at the beginning of the song.

You use pronoun “nong” to address me*

Followed by name

I understand about the age gap

It might be the reason that makes us different

Nong” (น้อง) is a term used in the Thai language to address someone younger than you. It could be used as “younger brother” or “younger sister” even if you aren’t related.

GORN (กร) sings about his contempt for their current relationship as junior and senior, but eagerly waits for the day they can be more than friends.

Please keep your heart available

Please don’t let anyone enter your heart

I’ll grow up to be your someone someday.

The song was accompanied by a cute music video that features 2D and 3D animations along with GORN (กร) dressing up as different professions to signify how others have dream jobs, but his dream is to grow up to be his crush’s lover.

Thank you for including a Thai pop song. It’s been years since I heard some modern Thai music. 🎵 ขอบคุณค่ะ
