Chaa Thai is a podcast spilling the tea on Peace Corps volunteer life in Thailand! Each episode, hosts Alyssa Strong and Lilly Hromadka interview a current Peace Corps volunteer in Thailand and do a deep dive on their experience at their host site. The tea is that there are as many examples of what service is like for a volunteer in Thailand as there are volunteers — join us as we get a taste!

A beautiful December evening finds us settling down for tea in the little-known province of Phi Chit, domain of one of our favorite charismatic YinD superstars, Natasha. The main flavor note of this week’s blend can only be described as “laughter through the pain” as we reminisce on hopes and dreams and expectations that have one by one shattered, cracked, changed, or eeked through over the past two years.
Natasha somehow has us in stitches as she spills all about her pre-country prep, a less-than-ideal counterpart, and the motivation she finds and shares every day. We giggle and outright cackle nonstop as she tells us about her province, the community she’s made, the creative ways she shows up for her students, and the travel bug that bit her when she stepped off the plane. Stay for the delight of the second kettle as we learn about her project for supporting special needs learners at her schools, and the hope for progress when she’s gone. Pull up a chair and tune in for a tangent-prone cup of hilarity and infectious smiles on this episode of Chaa Thai!
