Chaa Thai is a podcast spilling the tea on Peace Corps volunteer life in Thailand! Each episode, hosts Alyssa Strong and Lilly Hromadka interview a current Peace Corps volunteer in Thailand and do a deep dive on their experience at their host site. The tea is that there are as many examples of what service is like for a volunteer in Thailand as there are volunteers  join us as we get a taste!

On our way back from a jam-packed October break and Loy Krathong ceremonies, we stopped off at a village in Sakhon Nakhon. The home of TESS volunteer Miko is small but inviting, just right for her after living with her host family for over a year. A small yet mighty tea table is set up to brew patience and understanding, quiet connection, and healing laughter.

Miko spills all about her school and co-teachers, navigating the realities of site and finding inspiration in the small moments. We pour second, then third, then fourth cups as we listen to the details of her grant project, the progress she’s made in establishing a little library, and how she hopes it will continue after she’s gone. Settle yourself in our cozy corner and tuck into a cup full of growth on this week’s episode of Chaa Thai!
