Chaa Thai is a podcast spilling the tea on Peace Corps volunteer life in Thailand! Each episode, hosts Alyssa Strong and Lilly Hromadka interview a current Peace Corps volunteer in Thailand and do a deep dive on their experience at their host site. The tea is that there are as many examples of what service is like for a volunteer in Thailand as there are volunteers — join us as we get a taste!

It’s the 13th episode of season 2, and the famously lucky number worked its magic. It took us 2 days and 2 chaotic sessions, full of broken cups, spilled sugar, and overbrewed tea, to get through this nonetheless delightful conversation. And we sincerely mean lucky, because our guest this week is YinD volunteer Cassidy! The magic of Chiang Rai’s mountains and skies full of rainbows are reflected in her sunshiny smile and enthusiastic love for the site she calls home, and the setbacks from Number 13 were rendered nearly endearing in the light of the warmth and experiences she shared with us.
From her host family who adopted her as one of their own, to the friends who made the journey over, and the home she has found for herself, Cassidy spills all about the beauty of her community and her place in it. We hear how Peace Corps shaped her life before she was even a trainee, and how it brought her to the decision to extend for a third year, mixed in with plenty of the little moments that make everyone’s service so unique, of course. Join us as we sip on this vibrant, bubbly brew, an effervescent blend of Chaa Thai spilling over with abundance and joy!
