1–2 minutes

Chaa Thai is a podcast spilling the tea on Peace Corps volunteer life in Thailand! Each episode, hosts Alyssa Strong and Lilly Hromadka interview a current Peace Corps volunteer in Thailand and do a deep dive on their experience at their host site. The tea is that there are as many examples of what service is like for a volunteer in Thailand as there are volunteers  join us as we get a taste!

With the rainy season deepening, we escape to the North and find our next guest taking shelter in the province of Nan. This week, we’re heating our kettle at the home of TESS volunteer Reid Stautberg, surrounded by green and crisp mountain air. The tea for this party features subtle hints of a darling relationship, community integration in more than one village, and having an American support network practically built into your site.

As time passes and cups are refilled, Reid spills all about how service can lead to discovering truths about yourself, how he’s facing a truth that makes his job here a tad more difficult, and what sustains him despite that. Join us as we soak up stories of the classroom, nibble on adventures, and gorge ourselves on what being a Peace Corps volunteer means, down to the very bottom of our cups.
