Chaa Thai Podcast, Season 2 Ep. 8 Mia Buffington
1–2 minutes

Chaa Thai is a podcast spilling the tea on Peace Corps volunteer life in Thailand! Each episode, hosts Alyssa Strong and Lilly Hromadka interview a current Peace Corps volunteer in Thailand and do a deep dive on their experience at their host site. The tea is that there are as many examples of what service is like for a volunteer in Thailand as there are volunteers  join us as we get a taste!

Our first recording post-bpit term travel and mid-service conference finds us setting up our tea table in the mystical South with Krabi YinD volunteer, Mia! The self-proclaimed and Peace Corps-crowned Queen of Camp (the English and life skills variety) sits down with us over cozy adventures and nightmare fuel to spill all about her volunteer experience.

With her signature positive outlook and sunshine smile, Mia tells us about the niche she’s carved for herself in her community. We cover projects and plans, what the work-life balance looks like in service, and dealing with the realities of being a teacher. And, of course, she offers us some magical advice on how to stay connected, stay sane, and stay safe – you read that right – safe from things that go bump in the night! Take a listen to dive into all this tea and more!
