Chaa Thai is a podcast spilling the tea on Peace Corps volunteer life in Thailand! Each episode, hosts Dano Nissen and Morgan Shupsky interview a current Peace Corps volunteer in Thailand and do a deep dive on their experience at their host site. The tea is that there are as many examples of what service is like for a volunteer in Thailand as there are volunteers  join us as we get a taste!

We lucked out and managed to carve time for an interview out of Matt’s busy schedule of teaching, warding off Thai ghosts, weight lifting with his students, and eating multiple meals for dinner. Fueled by khao-jee, he’s teaching English in the northeastern province of Roi Et, but if you live in any of the surrounding provinces you might have seen him running. Matt has managed to train for and run a marathon, the full 42 kilometers, or 26.2 miles, during his service! For obvious reasons, he has become a champion of fitness for Group 134 but he has also picked up several other hobbies since being at site, including: gardening, mechanical engineering (kinda), hard core meditation, and raising puppies. Like I said, he’s got a packed schedule.
