Chaa Thai is a podcast spilling the tea on Peace Corps volunteer life in Thailand! Each episode, hosts Dano Nissen and Morgan Shupsky interview a current Peace Corps volunteer in Thailand and do a deep dive on their experience at their host site. The tea is that there are as many examples of what service is like for a volunteer in Thailand as there are volunteers  join us as we get a taste!

This week our guest is the coach of one of Thailand’s most accomplished competitive “Scrabble” teams – Bianca! She’s a TESS volunteer living in the Ubon Ratchathani province, and her school is unique in the fact that it has a “Scrabble” club (in Thailand it’s called Crossword) and several students who travel to competitions across Thailand.

In this episode we do talk a lot about Crossword and Scrabble, but we also talk about the frustrations that come with not being fluent in a language, the pros and cons of teaching TESS-style vs. YinD-style, and the intimidating parts of service that we’ve overcome over the past year and a half!
