This article is part of a series called “On Evacuation”. This series will be entirely written by RPCVs because, well, that’s all we have. Our goal is to help our Peace Corps community process, come to terms with their emotions, and share their experiences. Because this is happening to each of us, and we’re in this together. Please send your submission to firstname.lastname@example.org if you’d like to contribute.

Just three months ago I had the honor and privilege of sharing my work at site and in Thailand with some visiting family members. Now I’m back stateside and they’ve helped me to share the story of the #PeaceCorpsEvac2020 with the hometown public radio faithful.
