My name is Bianca, and I’m a TESS volunteer from Group 131. I will be taking over the Healthy Living Series with a perspective on the entirety of wellness. I will be focusing on what I like to call the three pillars of wellness: Mind, Body & Soul. I’m hoping to include submissions regarding not just physical health, but mental as well! To be successful in the world around us, we have to start by cultivating peace and well-being in our inner “world.” All of your relationships and experiences stem from the relationship you have with and the time you’ve put into yourself!
Challenge Yourself
Like many volunteers at site, I find myself with lots of unexpected free time. Some days, I’m being Thai-napped for hours with endless amounts of food, and other days, I think I’ve just been forgotten. On these days, I bask in the contentment of solitude. I’ve found myself looking for ways to improve and take up free time with something other than negative thoughts and missing my dogs at home or bagels with lox. This is a little something I put together for us volunteers. I have personally taken steps towards incorporating these habits in my everyday life. I’m not perfect, no one is, but when you make an effort you’ve already won.
