Welcome back, happy bpit term and congratulations to our new VOLUNTEERS! Sorry for the March hiatus. I’ll be honest, I straight up forgot how many days were in February. Be sure to check the blurb for your sun sign as well as your rising sign for added clarity on any given situation. If you don’t know your rising sign, you can find it here.
ARIES
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! This month is going to be a little more introspective for you, Aries. Venus is going to slip into the background of your sign, making it a good time for quiet reflection. Two things that you rarely are is quiet and isolated. But I believe in you, you abrasive freaks. For the new volunteers moving to site placements this month, this could be very beneficial for you. You’ve just been through a whirlwind of a few months with PST and now is a good time to slow down and catch up with yourselves. Definitely go to school, branch out into your community and meet some new people. But also be sure to take time for yourself. Journal, go on solo walks or bike rides, meditate. Whatever it is that gets you back to center.
Tarot Card of the Month: The King of Pentacles – This card is representative of skills and success in business and finances. When traveling this bpit term, be sure to think about where your money is going. Be conscious of what you’re spending it on. You don’t want to end up broke on Khao San with no way to get home. That’s easily the saddest image I can think of.
TAURUS
This is a good planning month for you, Taurus. You’re feeling determined and motivated and now is a great time to put that to action. However, some setbacks may prove to make this a little more challenging than expected. You’re filled with ideas, but for the first few weeks of April it will seem like no one is meeting you halfway or trying to work with you at all. Focus on doing the ground work in this time. Get as detailed as you can on the things you know you can do alone. Once the full moon hits in the middle of the month, others will start to feel refreshed and willing to lend a hand. Take advantage of this time and start collaborating. Getting this work done in the beginning of the month will make you a happy bull later on when you can relax and wait for school to start up again.
Tarot Card of the Month: The Four of Pentacles – You’re great with money. This we already know. Pulling this card is telling me that this month you need to cling to that skill you already possess. Be frugal and choosey about where you spend your money this month. Some surprise expenses may be coming up later and you don’t want to be completely taken off guard.
GEMINI
Your feelings may be focused on your professional life at the moment, Geminis. You may be thinking about your graduating students, worried about the upcoming school year or maybe just reveling in the joy you feel while at site. Don’t be afraid to dive into those feelings. Be open and honest with them. Vulnerability is hard for most of us, but especially hard for y’all. Let yourself feel the things you’re feeling and allow others to share in those feelings with you. I promise you will be met with open arms and appreciation. Since September, Jupiter has been giving you a real boost of confidence, aptitude, and luck. Be sure to squeeze out as much of that action as you possibly can while it’s still here.
Tarot Card of the Month: Knight of Swords – This definitely isn’t what I was expecting to pull for you, but still a very good card. The Knight of Swords is going into battle, full clad in armor, on top of a charging horse and giving it everything he has got to defeat his enemy. It is a card of bravery, strength, skill and honor. Don’t be afraid of your vulnerability. This armor that you’re wearing isn’t as necessary as you think it is. Charge into the emotional battle as bare as you can. That is the bravest thing you can do.
CANCER
It’s looking like a month of love for you, crabby crabs. (Wait.. that sounded different than I expected. Sorry.) Venus has been chilling in your sector for quite some time, letting you show off all you’ve got without you having to even try to do so. Now that you’ve caught the attention of some interesting people, go ahead and show them who you are. Flirt your life away and as our Queen Missy says, “Get your freak on.” Focus on improving the emotional relationships. The immediate attraction is already there, you might as well start to deepen it. For those of you already in relationships, now is a good time to really connect with your partner. Whether that partner is in Thailand or back in the states, take time for them and let them know that you care about them.
Tarot Card of the Month: Seven of Cups – This card is all about possibility. A figure stands in front of seven cups, filled with various items. Some desired, others not so much. However, these cups seem intangible, floating in clouds, not quite within reach. You have so many paths to go down, Cancers, be sure to pick one before they all fade away. (Cue Sylvia Plath)
LEO
Bpit term has begun and you couldn’t be more ready. You’ve had your travel plans ready for months and you’re just waiting for the bell to ring so you can get the hell outta dodge. Try to take a breather, Leos. I know you need the chance to let your freak flag fly, but be sure you’re giving yourself the time to reflect on this past school year first. Really give it the attention it deserves. What went well? What could you improve on? What are your goals for this next year? Give this vacation a little more of a productive spin on occasion. Of course, all work and no play makes a Leo a terrible, dramatic, grumpy human to be around, but being on vacation doesn’t mean you aren’t allowed to take steps towards a better tomorrow. Get the de-stress time you need and then come back to work, refreshed and ready to move on.
Tarot Card of the Month: Two of Cups – The two of cups fosters healthy, meaningful relationships. The people you need this month will present themselves to you. They will respond in a way you recognize, understand and appreciate. This card is all about finding the perfect balance of give and take and mutual support. Be sure to lean into it when the opportunity presents itself.
VIRGO
We all know you love your yellow legal pads, Virgos. And now you finally have a good time to make pros and cons. Weigh out your options and make sure you’re looking at all of the possible outcomes when making decisions this month. It looks like things could easily take a turn for the worse or the better. This is also true for looking at your relationships. A few months ago we talked about purging your life of people who don’t care about you the way you should be cared about. So now that we’ve cleaned out our closets, it’s time to get a little more detailed in the things we’ve decided to keep around. Look closely at your relationships with others. If it doesn’t bring you joy, you don’t need to keep it. Focus on the things that are healthy and important to you. You don’t have time for anything less than wonderful.
Tarot Card of the Month: The Sun – YAAAASSSSSS. When I pull this card all I can hear is “I’M COMIN OUT. I WANT THE WORLD TO KNOW. GOT TO LET IT SHOW.” A joyous, naked little baby is riding a horse through a field of sunflowers while the bright sun shines down on it all. Literally, what could be happier than that? Put your attentions on your happiness this month, Virgo. It’s your time to feel yourself.
LIBRA
Communication could not be more key this month. Mercury is going to either make or break you here. Take time to think over your words. Be choosey and tactful. The things you say to others are going to be taken at face value this month, so be sure to be as clear and articulate as you can. This may be especially true with family matters. Whether there is some conflict to be resolved or some misunderstandings to correct, be very careful with how you present your thoughts to others. Try not to let your emotions get the best of you and make sure you’re listening. All eyes are on you and that could easily work out in your favor if you take a few seconds and think before you speak.
Tarot Card of the Month: Queen of Cups – The Queen of Cups is a fair and just woman. She is the perfect embodiment of a Libra. This card is telling me that honesty and truth are going to be your best friends this month. Being yourself will be the best way to get where you need to go. Others will appreciate it and you will feel good about it as well.
SCORPIO
Your temper is not working with you this month, scorpions. Your fuse is short and your stinger is fired up and ready to go. Let’s make sure we jai yen yen about it, though. (Sorry, I know we all hate that phrase by now.) Be sure to identify the difference between a communication misunderstanding and an actual injustice. Take a breath before getting defensive. Think about perspectives, cultural differences and anything else that may be at play here. Travel might be a good idea for you during bpit term, Scorpios. If you can swing it, try to get away from site and relax your brain a bit. You can come back to the work when you’ve finished yen-ing your jai. It’ll be waiting for you when you return.
Tarot Card of the Month: Six of Wands – This card is occasionally referred to as the crown of hope. A man rides a horse calmly, yet victoriously. He seems to be bringing good news and there is an air of celebration around him. Reflect on the things you’ve done well this past year (or past three months, 129s) and go ahead and give yourself a pat on the back. Celebrate your victories and be proud of what you’ve accomplished so far.
SAGITTARIUS
The last few months has been all about living in the present moment. It’s been a test to stay in Thailand. Maybe things are happening back home or you’ve just been bogged down by work and are dreaming of a vacation. Well now that vacation is here and it’s time to allow yourself to be wherever you want to be. You’ve been working so hard and it’s time to relax. However, try not to isolate yourself this month. If you travel, go with one or two people you care about. It’s a good time to put those relationships to work. Rely on those you can and give them the support they need in return. April will be great in terms of strengthening these relationships. Deepen that emotional connection while you have time together.
Tarot Card of the Month: Temperance and Eight of Swords Reversed – Look at y’all, bein all special with your double cards. Temperance shows an angel pouring water from one cup to another, seeming to balance the two out. The equilateral triangle on their chest also emphasizes the importance of balance and moderation. When reversed, the Eight of Swords warns us of opposition, defiance, and difficulty. Be sure the gifts from these relationships are mutually beneficial, Sagittarians. Address any frustration or unfairness head-on and you will be heard and compromised with in return.
CAPRICORN
Similar to Libras, Mercury may be working against you this month. Communication problems could easily blow any small misunderstanding out of proportion this month. I see this especially causing difficulty in your “home” sector. However you define “home,” whether it be in the states or at site, there may be a sense of discourse there. Try and iron it out as best you can. But also know when is the appropriate time to step back and wait for them to come to you. You can only do so much to help others understand. If they aren’t getting it, they just aren’t getting it. Sometimes people just need time to think about your perspective. Continue to be present and encourage a solution, but don’t force it upon them. This month is also a good month to reflect on past lessons. There may be something you’ve learned through previous relationships that can help you mend this one.
Tarot Card of the Month: Ace of Swords Reversed – Well one interpretation of this card means childbirth, so let’s hope it’s not that one, kay? Although, the other meanings aren’t much better. The Ace of Swords is all about excessive degrees. When upright it brings excessive success, triumph, love. However, when reversed it brings us the opposite. We receive excessive turmoil, aggression, failure. It may seem like the world is against you this month, but I promise that isn’t true. Focus on what helps you move forward and next month we can come out on top.
AQUARIUS
The last few months have been encouraging you to branch out and try new things. This is the month to deepen those experiences. If you met new people, invite them to hang out sometime and deepen that connection. If you tried a new hobby, practice it some more and deepen your skill level. If you didn’t try anything new at all, you’re the worst and I don’t know why I bother with you all. (Jk, you kewl) This month you will learn to thrive. You will learn to live in the present moment and experience life to the fullest. Take time to absorb your surroundings and appreciate all that the universe has brought you so far. Love your surroundings and express your appreciation to the people important to you. This is a good month for some reflection as well as practice. Just be the inner love child we all know you are.
Tarot Card of the Month: Eight of Cups – A man walks down a river, alone. Behind him are eight cups that he chose to leave behind. The moon watches over him from above. Try not to rely on your material possessions this month. Go a day without your phone. Try and spend a few days spending no money. As we all know, technology has a knack for making us be anywhere but present. Facebook will still be there in May.
PISCES
It’s a very Pisces month ahead, fishy friends. Lots of self-doubt and feelings of unimportance. Find the people who make you feel otherwise. You are anything but worthless and now is the month to let the people you love show you that. Open your hearts to the love around you and let it in without question. These feelings could be brought on by a number of things. But the number one most likely thing I’m seeing is professional sources. Future projects may be threatened, making you feel like you aren’t doing effective work at site. Thailand likes to throw us for loops pretty frequently, don’t be surprised when the room you expected to use to build an English library at school is suddenly pulled out from under you. Take the time to grieve the loss of a seemingly done deal and buckle down to do what needs to be done to achieve your goals. Brainstorm ideas rather than self-destructive thoughts. You deserve better than that.
Tarot Card of the Month: Five of Wands Reversed – This card is a literal scramble. Lots of people with giant sticks, just smacking them together. It looks as though they’re fighting, but it’s unclear why. This card shows us that arguments and contradiction lie in our future. The important thing is not how hard we fight. The important thing is knowing whether or not to fight at all. Know a lost cause when you see one, Pisces. Move on if need be, but also don’t be afraid to break some faces.
