Tell us a quick story about your travels…
Khao Yai was a great experience! The National park is beautiful, the camping is cheap, and the hikes are absolutely gorgeous! The park is so large that getting around without an expensive tour or a car is nearly impossible. Camping was super easy, there are two main campsites and you can rent all the camping stuff you need for a decent price. We went during early February which seemed like a great time because the weather was cool and the waterfalls were still something worth seeing. It is possible to spot wild elephants (and apparently tigers, but I don’t believe that) but unfortunately, we didn’t see any. Monkeys and deer were plentiful enough, though. The only catch was that there is a 400B fee to get into the national park if you are a foreigner. It is possible to get that waived, but we didn’t have any such luck, it depends on the ticket person that day. The park was well kept up so we figured that at least the money goes towards something good. Overall, great trip!
